Welcome to Eskdale Tartans a new business that is being developed to weave and supply quality kiltmaking fabric; this all started as a result of the purchase of the yarn stock from the liquidation of DC Dalgleish TM weavers. We are working with a number of companies across the textile industry to build on this and offer an alternative supplier to the kiltmaking market. Our weaving collaborator and contractor comprises a small team of very experienced personnel each with many years of working in the textile industry and the majority of the team have been employed at some time by one of the largest tartan weaving companies in the industry.
All our tartans are woven doublewidth with a traditional tuck-in selvage on Dornier TM rapier looms. Our current yarnstock enables us to produce dancers weight and a heavyweight fabrics, we are also discussing adding a mid weight yarn to produce a mid weight fabric.
Our first weaves are back from the finishers, we have some tartan fabric available for sale.
